Oh sure! I absolutely love indie games. (I have more on my Wii U than I have time to play…)
Not much to say about it honestly. A very simple shoot em up. It’s like $2? I dunno, I like it’s simplicity and challenge. Gives an arcade feel to me.
Literally just a parody of Zelda. It’s the humorous adventure of tomboyish Ittle Dew as she hunts for ultimate adventure. Some people I know hate this game tho? I like it… ;__;
AMAZING GAME! You play as a luchador and travel between the Land of the Living and the Land of the Dead as he must save the president of Mexico’s daughter and the world from the evil hands of Calaca. It’s a beautiful mix of Super Metroid and Smash Bros. And it’s absolutely filled to the brim with references to Nintendo games and other fellow indie games.
The sorta sequel to the WiiWare title, BIT.TRIP RUNNER, but not really(?) Plot doesn’t matter at all tho, this game is an insanely fun music game. By far the best music game I’ve played in a while. The controls are just perfect, the levels are very eye catching and has a great learning curve.
I’m absolutely obsessed with Shovel Knight. It’s Ducktales meets Mega Man. It tries to act as if it’s a game straight out of the NES era with it’s limited color palette. Very challenging stages, lots of collectables, and beautiful sprite art are just some of the many things that makes this game the absolute best thing on the eShop right now.
Nano Assault Neo
It was pretty much the first game I got from the eShop. It’s a short but incredible looking shoot em up. I don’t really know what else to say to be honest.
This and Nano Assault were the first eShop games I got. Little Inferno isn’t really a game as it is an experience(?) You basically burn stuff, get money from that stuff, and spend it on more stuff to burn. Eventually some interesting things begin to happen though… ;)
Scram Kitty and His Buddy on Rails
VERY HARD GAME. It’s a bit frustrating but I find it very charming. You go around shooting mice and saving kitties in space. You really need to develop a feel for this before diving right in.
Stick it to the Man
A comedy filled adventure with Ray as his whole world begins to fall apart as he develops the ability to read minds and use stickers in his paper world to affect those around him. The writing is absolutely hilarious. It’s a bit on the short side unfortunately in it’s length. Warning: there is alcohol use, sexual jokes, light curse words, and a little blood.
So in the end, the 3 I highly recommend overall are:
there’s lots of other great indie games on the eShop. Maybe I’ll cover those too sometime? Someone needs to show some love for them.
